TWISTING
Twisting of long pairs is accomplished two pairs at a time,
with the aid of foot-activated control or manual palm-button
control. The wire ends are inserted into mechanical wire-gripping
adapters, and a sleeve is pulled into position to secure the
wires. The control is activated, and the motor turns a programmable
number of turns, completing the twisting action with high accuracy
and repeatability. The dual twisting heads allow double the
production rate of single-head machines.

Optional remote air clamp holds the second ends of the wires
during twisting, providing more consistent results and reducing
operator fatigue. Clamp mounts remotely, and allows twisting
of wires 4" to 180". Low pressure air cylinder compensates
for wire takeup when twisting, and tension is adjustable with
low-pressure air regulator. Toggle switches activate clamp heads.
CONTROLS
Motor activation is accomplished by a single-stage, heavy-duty
electrical footswitch, "Type E." On special order, manual pushbutton
switches can be provided. Remote clamp activation, if used,
is accomplished with pneumatic toggle switches. An automatic
safety switch prevents activation of the motor while the clear
rigid plastic safety cover door is open.
WIRE GRIPPING ADAPTERS
Wires are gripped in quick-release adapters custom-machined
to wire size or to pre-terminated wire contact dimensions. This
simple custom machining is most often performed in the customer
facility, but can be provided as part of the machine prior to
shipment, upon receipt of samples of the wires that are to be
twisted.
SPECIAL NOTES
Model MHT machines incorporate a fixed-speed, high-torque, 1700
RPM motor, a reversing switch, a cycle counter, and a programmable
turns counter, for maximum process control.
Electrical requirement is 120 VAC, 60Hz. Compressed
air is required only if the remote pnuematic clamps are used.
For best results a filtered and dry air supply is recommended.
